Organic beverages
Thomson & Scott
+1,490%DTC revenue growth
The situation.
Thomson & Scott makes an organic, vegan, alcohol-free sparkling wine. The product and the brand were already strong. The site was converting below the benchmark for the category. Email was almost inactive. The Amazon listings were inconsistent.
Direct-to-consumer was at 41 orders a month, with an £18 average order value. Amazon revenue was minimal. The listings were unoptimised, and there was no ad strategy on Amazon. Meta, Google and Amazon ads had already been tried, and they had failed. There was no email programme, no Klaviyo account, no retention system, and no bundles or gifting. At an £18 average order value, every paid channel was unprofitable.
What we did.
Weeks 1 to 2
Diagnosis came first: at £18 AOV every acquisition channel was structurally unprofitable, so the offer architecture had to change before any ad spend. We rebuilt the range around premium bundles and gifting, introduced multi-bottle packs and seasonal gift configurations, and mapped the customer journey to find every revenue gap. AOV moved from £18 to £100.
Weeks 3 to 4
The site was restructured around the bundle and gifting offer. Klaviyo was built from zero: welcome flow, abandoned cart, post-purchase sequence and winback campaign. Every Amazon listing was rewritten with keyword-optimised copy and structured A+ content, and reviews were seeded to build social proof. The Amazon PPC campaign structure was built in preparation for launch.
Months 2 to 3
Amazon PPC launched against the optimised listings, and Meta and Google campaigns were scaled on the new offer architecture. Klaviyo flows began generating 35% of total DTC revenue. Amazon reached #1 Bestseller in Sparkling Wines within 30 days of the PPC launch, Amazon ROAS hit 7.78x, and CAC dropped 73% as the system matured.
